		<description>The Event Room (downstairs at The Refreshment Room) is now open.  

A fabulous space for daytime (any day) corporate workshops, training, team building days and small conferences.  The Event Room has large or small meeting tables, a sound system, microphones, a lecturn, projectors, screens, a large white wall, downstairs bathroom amenities, downstairs entrance (separate to the restaurant), lounge area, gas fire (for winter) and plenty of parking. 

Your event can be fully serviced by The Refreshment Room kitchen and bar, and the upstairs restaurant and deck are fresh spaces to pause, dine and break up the working day. The surrounding Waitakere Bush and nearby west coast beaches offer fresh air, a change of perspective and plenty of team building activities. 

The Event Room, only 5 minutes from Titirangi Village, is also great for art exhibitions, banquet dinners and large group dining, special parties and social gatherings, small weddings, comedy and music gigs, etc.  

Our on-site event co-ordinator will assist to manage all your event needs and make your day or night run smooth. 

With its groove, comfort, ease and refreshing environment, The Event Room will provide you with a unique and professional function experience. 

The Event Room can also take overflow from the upstairs Refreshment Room restaurant, and is a great place to relax with your cured meats and early evening beverages or your dessert and coffee.

Almost all our food is made onsite - including our breads, pastas, sauces, desserts and ice-creams. 

We incorporate locally produced organic and seasonal ingredients into our meals, also supplemented by our chef-tended vegetable garden. 

We also source the best European cheeses, cured meats and flour.

		<description>It all began in October 2010, local residents Mark Hopkins and Jon Baxter teamed up with chefs John Pountney and Marc Harris to create The Refreshment Room.  These chefs had extensive experience in London and Europe and were the culinary team behind the successful Delicious restaurant in Grey Lynn.  Harris has since moved on and we have been lucky to have chef Hayden Phiskie join The Refreshment Room kitchen.

The old Montana Winery, built in the early 70's, provided the perfect location. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Waitakere's, The Refreshment Room has a large deck which provides outside dining in the summer months.

The Event Room, downstairs at The Refreshment Room, is also a great space for large group dining and banquet dinners, for day time (any day) corporate workshops and training, art exhibitions, special parties, small weddings and conferences, comedy and music gigs, etc. 

The Event Room also takes overflow from the upstairs Refreshment Room, and is a great place to relax with your cured meats and early evening  beverages or your dessert and coffee. Local residents Viv Head and Jake Taylor saw The Refreshment Room “goodness” and got in on the action in April 2012. Viv now runs the business side and manages the marketing and PR. She has occasionally been seen doing the dishes, waiting  tables, managing the bar and tending the till in the restaurant as well!

		<description>Our menu evolves each week, themed by the availability of fresh ingredients and what’s in season. 
Some “favourites” feature regularly, such as the chickpea and mozzarella chips, cured meats plate, cos and parmesan salad, ice creams and bitter chocolate truffles.

We usually also have at least two pasta dishes, a risotto and a scotch fillet.  

Other culinary delights added to the menu may include chicken, fish, lamb, duck and/or pork dishes. 

We always have a range of vegetarian dishes and easily cater for gluten free and vegan dietary requirements if you give us notice. We also provide child-friendly dishes upon request.
